Our Crowdfunding Groups
Imhotep Academy is a middle school enrichment program offered 4-5 times per year that introduces students to the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with a particular emphasis on reaching underserved students and those from groups historically underrepresented in STEM disciplines. Imhotep Academy aims to increase students’ awareness and enthusiasm for learning STEM, build their confidence and identity in STEM and inspire them to continue studying STEM throughout high school and college.
In honor of the program's 30th anniversary, Imhotep Academy is committing to provide at least 30 scholarships for students and families in need, removing financial barriers so deserving students from across the state can engage in a variety of activities including hands-on investigations, laboratory tours, field trips, STEM competitions and interactions with STEM professionals.
Budget Breakdown:
The per-student cost to provide STEM programming at Imhotep Academy is $325 for each session of the program. This covers teachers and teaching assistants, transportation, STEM materials and supplies, and other program expenses.
Funds will be placed in the Friends of Imhotep Academy Fund. If the project does not meet its fundraising goal, exceeds the project need, or the project cannot be completed, the funds will be used for the overall enhancement of the Friends of Imhotep Academy Fund.
Gifts are received by the NC State University Foundation, Inc. and may be distributed to an affiliated foundation that manages the fund supported by the donor.
