North Carolina 4-H Summer Camp Scholarships

Help us send deserving youth to summer camp in 2023! There are few tools as powerful as the camp experience for making a positive impact on young people’s lives. Your support will directly benefit young people in the summer of 2023 by providing full scholarships that will allow at least 10 youth from vulnerable populations to attend a week of overnight summer camp at one of three 4-H camps in North Carolina: the Eastern 4-H Center, Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Camp and Millstone 4-H Camp. Scholarship recipients will be selected during a competitive application process during the spring of 2023, and they will attend summer camp in June, July or August. Full camp scholarships ($500 per child) will be given to youth from vulnerable populations. This includes youth from low-income families; underrepresented youth, including youth of color and Native American youth; youth living with disabilities; youth experiencing challenges with mental health and well-being; youth in foster care; youth experiencing homelessness; and/or LGBTQ+ youth. We appreciate your support of the North Carolina 4-H Camps program and the youth of our state. We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to participate in the life-changing experience that 4-H summer camp provides. Budget Breakdown:

$500 covers food, lodging, and operational and staff expenses for one young person to attend six days and five nights of overnight camp at one of three 4-H centers in the summer of 2023. Our project goal of $5,000 will allow us to send 10 youth to a 4-H camp.

Funds will be placed in the 4-H/Camperships Fund. If the project does not meet its fundraising goal, exceeds the project need or cannot be completed, the funds will be used for the overall enhancement of the 4-H/Camperships Fund. Gifts are received by the NC State University Foundation, Inc. and may be distributed to an affiliated foundation that manages the fund supported by the donor.
