Socking It For Causes

As a part of the Weft and Warp Knit Engineering and Design course in the Wilson College of Textiles, students will learn how to use the design software for the Lonati sock machine, aka “Frederick.” Their completed designs will be a part of an annual sock competition, and the selected designs will be produced to support various student organizations.

Budget Breakdown:

$4,500 — Labor and materials for socks

$400 — Labor for sock packaging

$100 — Sock packaging

Funds will be placed in the Dean's Textiles Innovation Fund. If the project does not meet its fundraising goal, exceeds the project need, or the project cannot be completed, the funds will be used for the overall enhancement of the Dean's Textiles Innovation Fund.

Gifts are received by the NC State University Foundation, Inc. and may be distributed to an affiliated foundation that manages the fund supported by the donor.
