Robotics in the Lab

The Biochemistry Undergraduate Research and Training Program teaches students how to design, perform and analyze experiments in a hands-on setting. It improves their self-confidence and experimental skills, helping them enter future careers as technicians, researchers or academics. Our Apollo 324 robot is an essential component of this training, but it needs costly calibration before we can use it again. Your support will allow these extraordinary and diverse students to be better prepared for the needs of business or academia by funding their training in the use of robots for liquid handling and in the high-throughput requirements of industry.

Budget Breakdown:

Apollo 324 calibration: $8,000

Funds will be placed in the Trino and Elena Biochemistry Fund. If the project does not meet its fundraising goal, exceeds the project need, or the project cannot be completed, the funds will be used for the overall enhancement of the Trino and Elena Biochemistry Fund.

Gifts are received by the NC State University Foundation, Inc. and may be distributed to an affiliated foundation that manages the fund supported by the donor.
