Men of Color National Summit

The Black Male Initiative Living and Learning Village exists to create a brotherhood that supports its members’ continued development and success to graduation through mentorship, academic and professional workshops, social bonding activities and engagement in cultural immersion experiences. These experiences aid our members in unveiling their potential as they become community leaders.

The Clemson Men of Color National Summit aims to close the opportunity gap for Black and Hispanic males through workshops, engagement with other Black and Hispanic collegiate men of color, and networking with professionals and educators committed to serving as a bridge between participants and their career aspirations. The national conference seeks to enhance the experience of men of color through involvement and engagement that will help them develop a global mindset.

The Black Male Initiative's programmatic pillars center on career aspirations, leadership, building and maintaining social connections, and cultural enrichment. This conference offers our students the opportunity to enhance and sharpen their knowledge and skills around developing successful strategies for college and beyond. We hope to allow these students the opportunity to network with other collegiate Black males and professionals in their chosen majors to reinvigorate them for academic and personal success.

Budget Breakdown:

Conference registration =  $200 per student x 7 students = $1,400

Transportation = $600 (one 15-passenger van rental = $45.60 x 4 days = $182.40)

Lodging = $2,600

Branding materials = $400
