Alternative Service Breaks are unique learning experiences in which students travel to domestic and international locations to engage in direct service to a community. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to expand their cultural awareness, and we aim to make these experiences as equitable as possible by offering scholarships to students who are unable to fund themselves. Throughout their travels, team members participate in a variety of cultural, educational, recreational and reflective activities that enhance their service experience.
Budget Breakdown:
The $5,000 from this project will support 10 students, offering $500 scholarships to our next round of Alternative Service Break participants.
Funds will be placed in the Alternative Service Break Enhancement Fund. If the project does not meet its fundraising goal, exceeds the project need, or the project cannot be completed, the funds will be used for the overall enhancement of the Alternative Service Break Enhancement Fund.
Gifts are received by the NC State University Foundation, Inc. and may be distributed to an affiliated foundation that manages the fund supported by the donor.
